FDA Accutane Label Warnings

Dear Clients, Referring Counsel & Co-Counsel:

This is the first email update on the Accutane litigation project.

If you are receiving this email on our distribution list, I wish personally to thank you for your trust and confidence which you have placed in us as your legal team.  Accutane is thought to have caused some severe and long-term serious bowel injuries and we know your potential case is important to you and is a very serious matter.

Initially, I wish to introduce you to your legal team:  I assume you know me well enough already to have retained me (Roger Orlando).  My Mass Tort paralegal is Ms. Dunlap.  Zany always will know nearly as much as I about your case and the project status so feel free to speak or write to her in my absence.  Zany has been with me for over 12 years - she knows what she's doing - and can be reached at Zany@OrlandoFirm.com.  Also in my office working on this project is Associate Attorney Dana Dayagi.  Dana's task is to oversee the day-to-day administrative tasks associated with filing your cases.  Dana can be reached at dana@OrlandoFirm.com.   Last but not least - in fact, the brains behind the outfit - is our associated co-counsel, Mr. Lee Gresham from the Birmingham, Alabama law firm of Heninger, Garrison & Davis. Between our two firms, and the numerous referrals of other lawyers from around the country, we are handling in excess of 370 Accutane cases already, with more injured folks signing on with us every day.

Presently, I am working out of the New Jersey office this week.  As we develop your individual cases (obtain medical records and history, verify Accutane usage, and establish your case file) we intend to file most all cases over the coming 6 to 12 months.  This past week we filed the first eight (8) cases and will continue to do so in a steady stream until everyone is accounted for.  In the future, expect telephone calls from either of your law firms (The Orlando Firm or Heninger, Garrison & Davis) in order to obtain information we may need from time-to-time.  For instance, within a certain period of time after filing your lawsuit, a Plaintiff's Fact Sheet - a lengthy document requiring a lot of information about you - will need to be completed and served upon the defense attorneys for Hoffman-LaRoche.  If you receive any call you deem suspicious (not that I suspect you will), feel free to ask to call back one of these two law firms to verify it is us.

A couple of notes:

1.    Updates similar to this one will NOT appear on any regular basis, only when there is enough news you need to know.  Accordingly, do not expect an email update every 30 or 60 days or other periodic basis.  They only will come when there's something material you need to know as a group.  However, that said, we work for you so you ALWAYS are free to call or write with any questions or concerns you have!

2.    Cases such as your Accutane case take a long time.  Sometimes a couple or few years.  Please be patient!  I've had cases resolve within 12 months in the past (this will NOT be the case with Accutane.)  I've also had cases which have taken 6 to 7 years.  The average is around 2 or 3 years.

3.    I won't forget about you.  That said, if you move, or if there is any change or update in your physical condition, please notify us!  Changes of address, changes in telephone contact, changes in email addresses, new doctors, new diagnosis, new medical treatment related to your bowel condition, please let us know.  Via email is best, though call us too if that works best for you.

Again, thank you very much for the honor of representing you and the trust you have placed in us.

Roger
